Perritt Family Crest

Welcome to the Canadian Perritt Family website

"Amo Ut Invenio" = "I Love As I Find"    - Family Motto
The Perritt family name may not seem like a common name to most but it is steeped in history. So far we've been able to unofficially trace the Perritt name back to Normandy before the Battle of Hastings in 1066 A.D. The crest at left was emblazoned upon a battle shield identifying that our family includes knights involved in battle. We have a direct tie to author Jane Austen. We are also bestowed with the honor of being the very first recipient of the U.S. Medal of Honor. There are a number of variations of the name. The common ones are: Parrott, Parrot, Perrott, Perrot, Porritt, etc.
